Unwarranted Escalation,Use wisely!

Comfort Zone: Just escalate and job is done.

It is most obvious, escalation is a tool most often exploited and use as a tool to get job done quickly. Escalation is indeed something that is unfold day to day operation at workplace. We all are busy and so is Managers, supervisors, leads and for that matter so called A resource. The crux of the problem is no one wants to take accountability to solve problem because it involves time, planning , implementation and testing and that also involves whole lot of knowledge transition. Having said that , it will solve a big time problem.
The big question lies here,
who is going to solve this problem? Who wants to own this? Who is accountable for it?.

A true act of BOSS!

Just Escalate! Unwarranted escalation! Boss don't want to understand a problem and never focus on a solution. Because Boss is BOSS. Boss is very busy. Now best way to do it is, exploit it, use authoritative power. Drop one email and mark this to escalation channel. Wake up call. Now this escalation channel has no clue. What is next?
Handball the problem!
Other team is now involved.
Escalation is a like fuel. Someone ignites it, someone burns into it.
With escalation someone has to own this and blame for it. Eventually whole escalation process goes like a witch hunt. This results in ripple effect with a troll of email chains, very very difficult to cope up and digest. To list and CC/BCC will grow in size. Everything turns out to be messy. In the process everyone's time is wasted and a day effort is lost. Just one email , job done. Too many hands , less(no) work. This is what BOSS does. BOSS is a hero. A savior and a gladiator. It is like Avenger End game.
vs
A true act of leaders!
A true leader, in fact without wasting time in this day's of emails and unwarranted escalation, a true leader takes ownership and derive to a solution and a win win situation. He/She connects with concerned team and work towards resolution. A true leader is unsung hero. A true leaders is duly respected by his team members, he/she earns respect. A true leaders works unconditionally. A true leader diffuse the situation.
At the end of the day, as I always said, who cares!
But if you still cares then please use escalation wisely.
